General

Solvent Soluble Dyestuffs are very Brilliant dyes with good solubility in organic Solvents. These dyes impart transparent and light fast shades in general coating and printing ink applications. These are solvent soluble metal complex dyestuffs, particularly suitable for the colouration of printing inks, wood-stains, transparent lacquers, flexographic and gravure inks, leather finishes, plastics such as cellulose nitrate, cellulose acetate, polyester resins, etc. They are also used for the colouration of anodized aluminium, metallized polyester and metal foils.

Physical Properties

These dyes are highly soluble in many organic solvents and solvent systems. The solutions of These dyes behave like collodial systems. The solubility data are given in the table. However, the solubility values have been determined under specific conditions and serve only as a guide to the user.

Light Fastness

The light fastness of most of the dyestuffs is very good. However, the light fastness of a shade depends not only on the dyes but also on the nature of the substrate / vehicle and also on the concentration.

Heat Resistance

The heat resistance of a dye dependents to a great extent on the nature of the medium and the length of time it is heated. If the medium turns yellow, the shade of the lacquer will also be affected, even though the dyestuff is quite stable.
